1. Short Cookie & Similar Technology Statement

InQuote operates in a privacy-first tracking mode with PostHog cookieless analytics. We do not use cookies to identify users for analytics and we do not run a cookie consent banner for this purpose.

2. Cookies we set

  • inquote-sidebar-collapsed: used to remember the sidebar collapsed state in the app shell. It is a first-party cookie with a 1-year retention.

Cookie attributes: SameSite=Lax, Secure on HTTPS, path=/.

3. Cookieless measurement behavior

For page views and usage events, PostHog generates a temporary, privacy-preserving server-side identifier from a daily hash using internal inputs. This model avoids storing a persistent analytics ID in the browser.

  • No identify() linkage from browser storage.
  • No long-lived PostHog browser ID.
  • Cross-device identity linking is intentionally not available.

4. Important tracking limits

  • Aggregated user counts can fluctuate more than with persistent cookies.
  • Same-device continuation across days may not represent the same user.
  • Session replay, survey prefill features, and local caching of feature flags are not guaranteed in this mode.

5. Processing location and legal pages

We use an EU-hosted PostHog endpoint for analytics telemetry.
